First Post! 11/03/2009

Hi Collins.  We're up and running!  The website is almost done, the first newsletter is going out this week and, most exciting of all, the kids are living in their new home.  Guess what happened today.  I was at a thrift store picking up some things for the kids.  A woman commented on all the stuff in my basket and I told her it was for my 30 kids in Africa.  Shortly after that, I heard someone say "excuse me".  I turned around and saw this man who was carrying around an oxygen tank for breathing, and was accompanied by a young man who was quite developmentally disabled.  He said:  "I heard you tell that woman you were helping children in Africa.  This is for them".  He handed me $5.00.  I cry every time I think about it!  I'm going to put the money into two frames...one for you and one for me.  We can use these as a reminder of the incredible kindness, beauty and generosity that lies in the human heart.  That reminder should keep us going throughout this journey called SWIWSCO.  Love to you and my kazuri watoto.  Sue
